Teeth / Dental Cleaning-  (also known as prophylaxis, literally a preventive treatment of a disease) This professional procedure is completed by a licensed dental hygienist. The procedure is the removal of plaque and tartar (mineralized/hardened plaque) that may develop even with careful brushing and flossing, especially in areas that are difficult to reach in routine toothbrushing. Professional dental cleanings are recommended at least 2 times a year and is a crucial part of good oral hygiene and is needed regularly to maintain the health of your teeth and gums.

Fluoride Treatment Description: Fluoride is a naturally-occurring mineral that helps rebuild tooth enamel and reverse early signs of tooth decay/cavities. fluoride helps repair weakened tooth enamel even in adults, by replenishing lost calcium and phosphate — minerals naturally present in saliva. These minerals also make your teeth more resistant to future decay. The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends a professional fluoride treatment every 3, 6, or 12 months, depending on your oral health. If the patient is at high risk for cavities, they may also be prescribed a special fluoride rinse or gel to use regularly at home.

Fluoride is HIGHLY recommended 2+ times a year for patients:

– Those with a Higher Risk for Tooth Decay (cavities) or Erosion.

– Dental Sensitivity

– Those with Dry Mouth – from medications, mouth breather, smoker

– Weak Enamel

– Poor Oral Health

– Have a lot of Restorations (fillings, crowns, etc)
